Tutorial: Cropping a Photo

Cropping an image generally refers to cutting away the edges.

We might do this for several reasons. In some cases a large image can include objects or property we don’t want in our final view.

In other cases, we want to resize the image so it fits into a web page or other social media format.

In any case, cropping an image is one of the easiest changes we can make. Most PCs, laptops, phones and tablets have a built-in (free) viewer with the ability to crop an image.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to crop an image using the default “Photos” application installed in Microsoft Windows 10. On other platforms, the process will be nearly identical even if the specific application or menu options are in other locations.
